Depending on factors such as environment, stress, and shed cycle, the color and/or intensity of the color on most geckos does change drastically. I try to photograph the geckos when they are in their usual, most common coloration, and in their alternate/intense coloration range as well. I try to have shots of both looks. If I don't have shots of the alternate coloration uploaded, contact me to ask for them.

Common Questions

Q: Is this gecko still available?

A: Each individually listed and photographed gecko on my website is available if you are able to view the listing, and it is not labeled as "SOLD". As soon as the gecko is sold, I will update the listing with the label “SOLD”. Sold gecko entries will be available for viewing for 2 weeks after the sell date, then removed.

Q: I recently received my crested gecko & it is not eating. What should I do?

A: Keep handling to an absolute minimum!! I know you want to hold your new gecko, but it is very stressed out from shipping and the new surroundings. Recently shipped geckos might refrain from eating for 1-2 weeks after being shipped. Make sure the enclosure is an adequate size, not too big or too small for your gecko, and keep the temperatures above 68 and below 79°F. 70-75°F is ideal. Offering fresh Pangea Gecko Meal mix each feeding, either daily or every other day. **All my geckos HATE Pangea watermelon flavor!!**

My geckos always have access to a water bowl, but lightly misting them daily to help keep them hydrated while they settle in and keep their cage humidity up (65% to 80% fluctuation daily is great) is very important. Just make sure the cage doesn’t get swampy, puddly, or start smelling like a dirty fish tank or other nasty smells. This will help your gecko settle in quickly and result in more regular feeding.

Young crested geckos can physically only eat so much and are fully satiated after a several licks of their diet, or a few insects. Observing for droppings/poop is the easiest way to tell if your gecko is eating. Crested geckos must be provided with a proper diet (NOT baby food or fruit puree). I offer my geckos a variety of Pangea flavors mixed with Pangea Growth-and-Breeding formula, so I cannot guarantee my geckos will eat other products/brands when they first arrive. Actual fruit bits or fruit puree are great for treats only.

Q: Do I need to feed my crested gecko live insects?

A: Not necessarily, however, live insects are a natural part of their diet. I have not fed the geckos insects, so they may or may not be interested in them. You can try freeze-dried, or canned-cooked bugs too. Also, insects should only be part of the diet and not make up the entire diet. These geckos can be raised on quality crested gecko diets with a complete macro (proteins, fats, carbohydrates etc.) and micro-nutrient (vitamin D3, calcium, vitamin A etc.) profile, i.e. Pangea Crested Gecko Diets and Repashy Crested Gecko diets being the main two used by breeders/keepers.

For Just-Shipped and Geckos Acclimating to their new homes (at least for the first month)
Overheating Kills More Crested Geckos than ANYTHING ELSE!

DO NOT EXPOSE CRESTED GECKOS TO TEMPERATURES ABOVE ROOM TEMPERATURE (75F), EVEN IF THEY ARRIVE COLD. PLEASE DON'T TRY TO HELP WARM THEM UP WHEN YOU GET THEM - THIS CAN BE FATAL.

THEY ARE COLD BLOODED ANIMALS AND ARE SUPPOSED TO MOVE SLOWER THAN NORMAL WHEN COLD. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE DYING!

HEALTH ISSUES OR DEATHS RELATED TO OVERHEATING WILL VOID ALL GUARANTEES.

Also, as tempting as it is, do not handle your new gecko very much the first few weeks through the first month. They are already very stressed from shipping and being in a new, strange place. Getting handled often will stress them out even more and make it even harder for them to adjust. In some cases, it can stress them so much that it leads to their death.

Once they have settled in and are eating and pooping fine, and don’t get too stressed out if you handle them for a brief moment, they should be able to handle higher temps (80F) as long as it cools down very well at night. Above 80F will start to stress them, but they will not instantly drop dead if the temp hits 81F.

(My place hits 85F every summer, for days at a time, and everyone is fine. I mist more often and turn the plant grow lights off during the middle of the day. It also drops 20 degrees F inside every night where I live.)

Important Information About Gecko Color

Probably the biggest challenge is the fact that screen settings vary from device to device which makes it literally impossible to make any photograph appear the same on any two screens.

Because these factors are out of my control, I do not offer refunds due to misinterpretation of color.
